stand with Burmese people!

Yesterday, I signed for a petition to request UN Security Council and China to positively influence and produce real results instead of words and lip service. The petition is available at

The petition drive has already collected about 250,000 signatures only in a few days. It is aiming for another 250,000 by the week's end.

Letter to the UN Secretary General

Dear Mr. Secretary-General,

At this moment, Burmese monks and people are being shot, killed and beaten to death only because they express their desire to live free from constant fear, only because they have nothing to feed their families, only because they can not afford to go to work, only because the monks simply wanted an apology from the junta. And, they have expressed their desire peacefully.

On behalf of Burmese monks and people who died and those who are willing to die for their future generations, I would like to strongly urge the United Nations to send a peace keeping force to Burma.

Now is the time for the United Nations to seize this opportunity and facilitate the birth of a democratic, peaceful and legitimate government chosen by the Burmese people.

Please send the peace keeping force to BURMA now.

What is SPDC going to do?

Earlier tonight, I listened to a BBC news clip (http://www.bbc.co.uk/burmese/news/story/2004/12/041201_sunday_dawn.shtml) which had the interviews with Kyemon (The Mirror) U Thaung and Ko Moe Thee Zun (June).

Given the current demonstrations of the Burmese people led by Sayadaws(monks) of Burma, I have created this blog to discuss how the events will unfold this time around. I lived through the events of 88. It has been 14 years that I left Burma. Now, I live in the U.S. It's like a dejavu all over again. I hope things turn out for the best for the People.
